Don’t see the penguins wanting to give up those pieces for Fisher. He struggled offensively last year but I think the coyotes would want to keep him due to their cap situation and his age.

Rutherford would certainly need to be fired if he did that trade.

That was more of a trade OF Kessel, not for Geno.

Trading away Kessel was 100% for Malkin.

Penguins aren't giving up on a prospect they like for that. Maybe Fischer turns it around maybe he doesn't. But this collection of guys who need to turn it around isn't how you build a team. They already got three projects on the team in Matheson, Ceci and Jankowski, why the hell do they want a 4th. Hard pass.

what the hell does cap have to do with this trade? They both make less than him! Hell Legare is a prospect so he won't make anything. Lafferty is league min.

Once Marian Hossa gets moved from the IR list to the LTIR list, Arizona has $2.5 million in cap space. This trade only adds $550,000 to Arizona's cap (assuming Legare plays in the NHL) and fills out their 23-man roster at the same time. In short, their are no economic bars to this trade. On-ice hockey value is, of course, an entirely different matter.

Yes, I agree!! I would rather have Legare than Fisher. And Lafferty played well last year in limited games and limited ice time. And I swear he’s bigger than what he is listed as. He always looks bigger and thicker than most of the other players on the ice. I swear he’s bigger than 6’1, 195 pounds. But either way. This would be an overpay.

And what about Rust..?? Rust is good on Geno’s wing. I doubt our Top 6 Changes unless we signed Kovalchuk and I’m sure he would play with his buddy Geno, on the 2nd line. And then Rust OR Zucker would move down. You can’t put Kapanen on the 3rd line with our current Center options. And even Haula. Kappy is a perfect fit for Guentzel and Sid. Kappy is one of the fastest player in the NHL. Sid and Guentzel play fast. Jankowski, McCann, Haula, wouldn’t be able to keep up with him. To get the best out of Kapanen, he needs the right LineMates. They need to play fast like him. That’s why I think Zucker played better on Sids line last year, Zucker plays fast and is fast.I know, Geno is a great Skater and is fast too, but he plays more Bully ball hockey. Kessel also struggled on Malikin’s line. While Rust, Hornqvist, Iginla, J.Neal, B.Guerin all played great on his line. And Crosby best linemates were P.Dupuis, Hossa, Kunitz, Guentzel.
