I think stone is too high, Seth Jones should be top five on rhd, but I mean Jones may be the most polarizing star on this site.

hmm

I think matthews will be in the top 5 with McDavid, Petey, Wright and Mackinnon

I also think Vasilevskiy wont be here and Adam Fox will be a lot higher

Theres probably more things, but I would have to take a deeper look at it

thanks for the feedback. im worried fox will get backlash even though hes the best out of makar and hughes as a well rounded player wise

Has Hughes shown anything to say he will be better than Point in 5 years?

To be fair its also the type of game they play/encouraged to play. Hughes and makar were pretty much given the green light and are going to be 70 PT d men

he'll be in his prime and Piet close to retirement age. And why does everybody like Makar more he only played one year and played with Mackinnon who is WAY better than any stars forward, plus Heiskanen is better defensively

Spurgeon a TOP5 RHD at 36?

I dig the guy but that's way optimistic.

Players like Tolvanen, Fiala, Gurianov and Shesterkin are interesting shouts but I think you're overselling on all of them.

Also I think it's a bit problematic that aside from Sanderson all TOP6 picks of 2020 draft plus Askarov are in this elite 60. This would make the 2020 draft class by far the best in NHL history, which frankly I don't believe is the case.

That's what I mean though, look at how point progressed, Hughes basically has five years to develop. He had a poor first season but so did Thornton, stamkos, lecavalier. There's some merit to ranking him high. Not saying it will happen but its not some out there opinion.

this list is way off.

Not to mention it's way to early to do this.

Will Tarasenko even be playing in 5 years with his shoulder issues?

Way too hard to predict 5 years from now. Some of the guys who will be the best in 5 years are still in high school LOL

Agreed. I don't know why, but I feel like Byfield is going to break a few Kings fans hearts...I just don't see him being a superstar. Should have a solid career, but to put him above Matthews (Who has put up insane goals per game numbers so far), Point (Who just keeps getting better and better), and Jack Eichel is a bit of a stretch. I mean, Barkov is only going to be 30 at that point as well...

I just feel like the list has a pretty significant recency bias. To assume that 3 picks from the 2020 draft will be the top 3 LWers as 23 year year olds is probably pretty off the mark. When you look at this years draft, yes, it was absolutely strong, but I don't see anyone other than Laffy jumping into the top 4 or 5 by then.

Matthews is 23 and somehow slid to the bottom too lol,

In 5 years Matthews, Mcdavid, point Eichel and McKinnon will still be top 5 centres in the league. This is assuming no other generational centre is drafted in the next couple of years.
