Wings pass, no to kerfoot for anything and we aren't trading bertuzzi. Change the kerfoot piece to something that helps them on their rebuild.

in a third line centre role, kerfoot/kadri basically played exactly the same, except for getting suspended two years in a row smile

he'd never get the ice time here to succeed like he has in colorado. kadri had his chances here and he blew it. Kerfoot is younger, cheaper, signed longer, better defensively at the price of grit and sandpaper. Didn't do us much good though anyway bc Kadri was never in the lineup or not in the penalty box

also, holl is probably better than hamonic, if not offensively, then defensively. The top 6 also takes a huge hit losing nylander, and bertuzzi is gonna need a new contract after one season

Gotta disagree with that one. Kadri was never given a chance to be a number 1C here. He always had either Bozak or Grabovski playing ahead of him. I hate the narrative of "well he got suspended twice in the playoffs" but in the same breath say well "the Leafs need toughness". I f--kin wish Kadri was a Leaf forever. He's exactly the time of guy you need on a roster. He was just coming into he's own before they signed JT.

The Leafs would be in a much better situation if Matthews was 1C and Kadri at 2C.

So Liljegren and a 2022 2nd round pick doesn't help them on their rebuild?

Yes dude Kadri and Kerfoot are the exact same player. Statements like this are the reason it's been 53 years...

Not at the cost of a good young winger. That's addition by subtraction.

You know what the problem was after Kadri got suspended the first time around? Management failed to sit him down during the off-season and help him understand that him getting suspended did not help the Leafs. The sad thing about this is he was suspended when the Leafs needed him most.

Then he went and suspended again the following playoffs. He didn't learn a thing from that first suspension and very sadly, Leafs' management did not either.

Funny thing is you can see Kadri learned from that trade. I was watching the Col/ARI series and Hall was taking liberties with MacKinon in I think game 3? During the line change Kadri didn't jump in to defend MacKinnon. The old Kadri would have jumped in and gotten suspended.

You may not like what's happened but both the player and management handled that poorly.

Ah the refrain of the purposefully obtuse. I'm not explaining what I meant because you either know or are too stupid to understand. Good luck winning those cups.

Classic CapFriendly, sending a list of stats with no context and using it to justify your statement, not once actually explaining what the hell is the significance...

Really?? Back to back 20g seasons and 6 more points in 23 less games. Kerfoot is a bottom 6 forward at best who has had trouble scoring since he left Colorado. Bertuzzi has 29 more points than Kapanen in fewer games and Toronto got a 1st for him. Last season Kapanen and Kerfoot combined for 22 goals and Bertuzzi had 21 but Toronto had 95 more goals than Detroit. Kerfoot isn't better than Bertuzzi and making statements like that make you look like you have no idea what you are talking about.

The one on Wingles was terrible, god I just rewatched it on youtube, but the one on DeBrusk he was sticking up for Marleau who got crushed early. Again, guys who play on the edge will have some bad hits, take bad penalties, get suspended, but they also play a huge role on winning teams. I am soooooo in the minority of Leaf fans on this I know, but I'd take a core of Matthews, Kadri, Maner, Nylander all day.

Bertuzzi was playing on the top line with the wings best players while kerfoot was on the third line with engvall and what ever else the wheel of spinning linemates gave him

Yeah it does, but kerfoot is a no, we want something better then that for bertuzzi. Throw in a better prospect or player, or we can just keep Tyler and move forward comfortably with our rebuild

So Bertuzzi faced top line competition and Kerfoot was protected behind two of the best centers in the world and somehow he's better? Yeah..no.
