That's not even the same comparrison. Who is talking about Neal, Kassian, or the Oilers buyout history? LOL that came outta nowhere. Could have said Oilers 40% McD, Drai, Yamamoto, Puljujarvi, Bear, Jones, Broberg, Bouchard...LOL
Also how is it rich coming from an Oilers fan? I admitted we have our own issues but at least we've seen the 2nd round recently, oh and the cup finals more recently than you, oh and the Stanley Cup, oh and a 50 goal scorer, and a 100P scorer...Toronto has the least amount of crap to talk out of the entire NHL.
You guys get so salty and can't ever back anything up when other teams fans call you out. You can post your stats I never once said Marner and Matthews weren't good. In fact I said from the start Matthews is a beast. I also said IN MY OPINION Marner should be making 9.5ish as he pretty much skipped a bridge deal after a 69 point season and got a big payday with no resume. If you disagree that's fine you're allowed to.
Take a breather and calm down geez. nobody hates the Toronto Maple Leafs. We all just hate Toronto Maple Leaf fans...
my point being you have some seriously god awful contracts on your books. one's that are ACTUALLY unmoveable and you are 'stuck with'.
the leaf's worst contract is kerfoot who's a viable 3C/top 6 winger
you can count tavares I guess, but he's a top 15-20 goal scorer so idk lol
also marner had 94 points and finished 3rd in primary assists before he signed his contract
you say he should be getting 9.5 but the closest comparable is rantanen, who marner far outpaces in points and playmaking ability + defensive play
marner is slightly overpaid yes, but again, you guys gave a 51 then 77 point guy who was a heavy minus player 8.5 for 7 years (equivalent to like 9.1 in today's cap). That contracted was laughed at endlessly until draisaitl finally broke out.
also haha you guys made the second round yes, sick burn. It was your only playoff appearance since 2005 lol
also take a breather? I'm not mad lol. I'm just pointing out it's better to have 3 big contracts on excellent players than have 22% of the cap tied up in effectively dead weight, bottom end players
