Description

Don't get me wrong, Tkachuk is the better player between he and TK, and that gap is not made up by two mid level prospects. However, the key in value in contract length and value, that frees up more for CGY in 2 years (when Gaudreau is also up for re-sign at 6.75mil), for PHI they'll have Giroux, Hagg, Braun all at less or gone. TK at 5.75mil for 5 years is a brilliant contract
MTL takes a chance on Ghost for Kulak, but as you can see from the below, PHI is already carrying 7 dmen, so it could be something else, its about saving cap for a player who probably wont dress.

Calgary will make room for Tkachuk if they need to. They're not going to move him. I'd like that trade if it were to happen though.

If Montreal trades Kulak, it's because we have a surplus of LDs and for cap reasons.

First of all, this trade will not happen this year. At a flames fan perspective, I think this trade it's interesting to trade Konecny for Tkachuck. However, if u want flames to have any interest to trade their future captain, it has to be a huge overpayment.

I'm a lifelong Oilers fan and no way Tkachuk leaves Calgary. He's like Nuge to the Oilers. He's a lifer and the fan favorite. They do whatever necessary to keep him there much like Edmonton is doing to keep Nuge in town.

The flames will have enough cap space for both gaudreau and tkachuk because gios contract will be up, and if they didn’t they would trade Tanev or lucic instead of their best player
