If he never was traded, he would have just walked in UFA 1 year later bc he would have never signed is extension with Duchene there...so that means no Girard and Byram if they picked ROR over Duchene... and avs wouldn’t have compher and saad on this roster

i mean you don't have compher or saad but we would have still traded duchene who's stock was higher when he was younger so we would have something similar to girard and byram and then barrie would have been moved for a winger instead of a center.

they trade Duchene at the time of ROR, they didnt get a long either...no way ROR stays and extended with Duchene there. So you dont get to trade him to Nashville and Ott years later that gets a 4th overall pick and Girard. They would have a much less return in hindsight trading Duchene at the time of ROR instead

timelines dont work out...point is you dont get Byram Girard Compehr and Saad on this roster if the avs didnt trade ROR.
They either dont have compher saad, trade duchene instead and get a similar package to a different team who knows the return (rumour that Ott wanted duchene at the time and was Colin White and other assets were offered)

Or they keep Duchene and ROR walks in UFA and they have Byram Girard but nothing else to show for it
