Description
Barre-Boulet is the playmaking Tyler Johnson so put him in Johnson’s old spot. Per Athletic’s Adam Vingan and Joe Smith’s conversation it seems like Nashville would be more interested in Palat than Killorn (2yr vs 3yr commitment and Palats playoff performance. They talking about Farrance who recommitted to BU when he could’ve went pro this upcoming season as a potential return). Alanfelt is a good goaltending prospect that Detroit may be more interested in than ABB and we already have Vasy locked up and we have Miftakhov in the system)

So what is Palat's motivation to move from the only NHL team he has known, the Cup Champs to mediocre Preds?
Johnson's four year term, may not be appealing to any team even with a sweetener.

I'd rather keep Farrance honestly. NSH doesn't have the best defensive depth right now, and if they part ways with Ekholm (expansion draft concerns) then Farrance seems like the only D prospect we have that has any chance of replacing him. Davies seems more like a bottom pairing defenseman, and then after him we really don't have an LHD depth. And based on Poiles comments, trading a promising prospect for an aging winger doesn't really make sense to me. Maybe Farrance is leaning towards not signing with NSH, but I don't know if I feel that way. Makes sense to just stay at BU with all the uncertainty around the NHL season, so that doesn't raise any red flags for me...yet.

I see what you’re saying but it would be impossible to make mock trades going off of that. All the teams that have cap space and can trade for a guy like Palat are poor/mediocre teams.

not trading Farrance. He's partnered with Fabbro in college and is the obvious go to to replace Ekholm.

I Know Smith mentioned Farrance as one of his "set the bar high" asks in that article, but NSH would decline pretty quickly unless they felt they had no chance of signing him (despite Farrance wanting to finish school, there's no reason to think that's the case yet).
