Coleman won't be traded. His value is much more this year than what could be gained in cap space by trading him.

What it would take to have comtois here with a trade involving poehling. Knowing that Comtois is a 2nd round pick 50th overall and poehling is a 1st round pick 25th overall.

Where they were picked has 0 impact on the value they currently have. The Ducks have no reason to consider moving him

Big fat no from Ducks. If you want Comtois you’ll need to send back just as high caliber prospect

What's the point of acquiring Coleman and Johnson from Tampa if you're going to flip them since you can't afford them

This is about getting ABB and Formenton, but MTL isn’t offering enough to get ABB, and not enough to get Formenton. I skipped this one earlier because the values are too far off and these trade ideas turn into how they don’t need to offer much to get the low value prospect, but they sure do want those prospects. They aren’t fooling anyone, with sense, with these offers.

Except we already have many forward prospects

I understand, but that’s still the OP’s goal.

Why wouldn't TB skip Montreal and keep ABB and acquire Formenton themselves???

Exactly.

This is one of the reasons I laugh at people who try to justify their trades by saying, just flip the player for something else.

Flip it for worse? Why acquire the player.
Flip it for better? Then the original team can do that.

I feel like you just put the players you wanted and let your cat click on the mouse randomly to decide which players were going the other way.
