How about we enjoy having Marner and Nylander

Created by: MatthewsFan
Team: 2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 5, 2020
Published: Dec. 5, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
As much as I enjoy seeing the Marner and Nylander trades, just reaffirms why they shouldn’t have signed John Tavares and have 40mil tied up in 4 forwards. Lets enjoy having two super skilled, young, homegrown drafted players for a long time. But that’s just me, cause I don’t see another Mitch or Willy coming up. I love how the farm system looks but not at RW.

The columbus trade probably should happen but if Korpisalo has another monstrous year, this trade would look less likely.

It’s time to move on from Freddy. He’s been an absolute rock playing in front of terrible D cores. But at his age and the potential of his play starting to decline, we need a new look. Plus this:
Last 8 potential series clinching games
Record 0-8
GAA 3.49
SV% .877

I was just wondering when I saw this post. I thought this was a 2021 look but it was a 2022 one so I mistook that Freddy should have been on the roster than in free agency.

Honestly not much to hate on here. The Abramov Korp trade definitely depends on this next season. It might be more likely Rodion Amriov or more is required - that’s contingent on a lot too.
I just don’t like the Bozak signing. I feel there will be better options available. Maybe if he’s signing for league minimum.

If it takes Amirov no chance then, I’d roll the dice then signing Bilyalov out of the KHL then. Feel like Abramov could get it done but maybe not. Yes, definitely could be better options than Bozak.

I’d like the leafs to stick it out with some of these prospects. Really curious about Abramov, Hallander, and SDA.

Absolutely, it’s the first time where I really hope we don’t go out and sign a bunch of older NHLers and let some the drafted guys playing time. I.E Korshkov, Anderson, Engvall, Brazeau(really hope they sign him to a N contract) Hollowell.
Sandin and Liljegren need to be on this team next year. The flat cap will make it super important to draft and develop!

More reason why fans screamed at the TV when they drafted him, should have taken Schneider like everyone predicted (heck could have drafted down a couple of spots too and pick up another mid Rd pick like the Flames had - they traded down twice and got two 3rd Rder's).

If the media and fans keep blaming Mitch, than no matter great he is, he'll get the Kadri treatment and traded away for below market value and get a chance to play in the Cup Finals like Kadri will with the Avs.

Ya, that’s a no from me. Amirov looks amazing! I will happily wait for him. You can take Schneider Schenn 2.0

Fancy timid scorers do what in the playoffs, disappear. I'd take the chances on a big mean Dman over a forward who will hand over his lunch money rather than stand up and fight when the going gets tough.

Schenn is closing in on 900 NHL games played, if you did that draft or Dubas, you would have probably selected Filatov instead; the player selected after Schenn.

What if they make a run this year and he shows up in the playoffs? Would that change this perception any?
