just saying, McDavid will be a UFA 1 year after 35 year old JT's contract is up
not that we'll have a boatload of cap space or room for another star centre or anything >: )

Ridiculous offer to Edmonton.

Absolutely no chance the oilers consider this.

Players aside, (not even close in that regard), how do they add that kind of salary?

Friends, lovers, soulmates, whatever. You just don't get the best hockey player on the planet for a package like that.

Good point, the Leafs will have 29 million to offer McDavid than...because all of Matthews/J.T./Nylander will leave as UFA's.

It’s way more likely Matthews goes to Edmonton than McDavid to Toronto. But either way, the trades are ridiculous since neither team has need for another first line center.
