I think Edmonton will surprise a lot of people this year and be battling for a top 3 spot. Very good ufa additions plus a few very quality prospects knocking on the door with very interesting timing this season would be banging the door down when European season ends and joining Edmonton and becoming replacement options for anyone banged up down the stretch.

Every year people say the same thing about the Penguins. They are gonna have a down year. And every year they prove them wrong. Our top 6 is still as good as anyone’s in the NHL. Same with our top 4 on defense.

I dont get the Edmonton hype, years after years.

Still no goaltending, still no depth in front (Kahun and pool party will team up for like 80pts?!), still problems on defense (klefbom is out long term and a lot of inexperience).

Calgary, Montreal, Pittsburgh, (maybe) NYR are all ahead IMO.

Duma-Letang is analytically and otherwise legit a stud top pair and dominates whoever they play against and boost whichever line they play behind.
Pettersson-Marino were both pilfered by GMJR in the last season+ for sprong and a 6th. that top-4 is legit although the 3rd pair has legit ???s.

PIT makes it bc Sid won't let them miss. I personally think there are at least 2 playoff berths left in this team minimum then we'll see where it goes bc almost every contract is up in the next two years....

Yes, u think Fluery, Murray and Jarry are just that talented?? We just keep producing all-star goalies every year?? No, our defense and defensive system in front of our goalies is anyways very good. And yes, seeing as Letang(who is not only still a top D-men on the point on the PP) is always still very good defensively along with Dumoulin. And Pettersson and Marino is a very good second pairing. Playing together for the 2nd year now. And Dumoulin/Letang have been together for multiple years. And our 4th line, was one of the best lines in the NHL last year defensively, if not the best. Tanev/Blueger/ZAR even though their numbers were all great and tops in the league, them all receiving Selke votes proves that without even doing any research. Again, Yes, I would put our top 4 Defense against any teams in the NHL. Along with our top 6 forwards.

U can give me Guentzel/Sid/Kappy, Zucker/Geno/Rust, Dumoulin/Letang, Pettersson/Marino. It’s comparable to any teams in the NHL.
