Can Sharks dig themselves out of this hole

Created by: Bdawwwgy1
Team: 2021-22 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 7, 2020
Published: Dec. 7, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Obviously this isn't a great team but this gives them a shot moving forward at the very least. Vlasic, Couture, and Kane are likely here to stay long term.

Thoughts on the trades -

The PHI is assuming Karlsson bounces back which i think is likely, especially considering he was still pretty good last year albeit overpaid. He won't be super elite again but should become a bonafide top pair RHD again imo. SJS doesn't want to trade him but can't trade Vlasic so they feel forced to trade EK65.

Seattle - this trade is also assuming Jones and Burns partially bounce back, but not to the point where they are surplus value contracts. Could Bergmann, Weisblatt and 3rd be enough to take them?

Nyr - I wasn't sure about this but Hertl would come with an extension. Bit of a retool move. Chytil has a good, not great, year.

Yes they can get out of it, they just have to blow it all up and rebuild, it’s best for them to “keep swimming”.

yeah idk how to even begin to address the mess they're in. It's rough. I'd hope with retension somebody would take burns, Karlsson would prob be easier to move.

imo a blowup and complete rebuild is what they need

Easy accept! Simek would fit in so well in NYR alongside Trouba while Lindgren plays with Fox.

Although I get why SJ would/should be interested in ADA if one/two of Burns/EK gets moved, I don't see why they should move Simek, he's on a good contract and is a very good and underrated number 4-5 d-man

I thought of it more as a "hey we will also give you Jones and a 3rd for Simek also", but tbh looking back i should have had more going back towards SJS. Maybe Pajuniemi + another pick?

Pretty easy Rangers decline. Hertl has no term. Rangers aren't trading young assets for anyone without team control. Davidson has made that very clear.

I'd accept from Philly. That contract still scares me even with a 1.6 million discount but unloading JVR and Ghost short term sounds great. In three or four years that $9.9 million might be difficult to swallow.
