How do we get a rid of Faulk

Created by: tstrauss16

Description
How do the Blues get a rid of Faulk? Not sure if Vegas is the right team to trade with. St. Louis has to add some sweetener like a prospect or a 3rd round pick or something. This trade would have to happen at TDL to work. The future is fine now because Fleury only has cap hit one more season. Sanford might get picked by Seattle, if that happens Blues can resign Schwartz to a 5 x 6.3, Thomas to a 2 year bridge at 4.5 AAV, Binnington to a 5 x 5, Barbie to a 2 x 3, and Kyrou to a 2 x 1.275. Blues need a 23rd man on the roster to have a cap hit of 750k to make it work like a DLR, Bozak, or veteran. Here is what the future roster could be.

Schwartz -- Schenn -- Thomas
Perron -- O'Reilly -- Tarasenko
Blais -- Sundqvist -- Kyrou
Clifford -- Barbashev -- Kostin
Krug -- Parayko
Dunn -- Perunovich
Scandella -- Bortuzzo/Santini
Binnington -- Fluery
Ex Forwards: MacEachern and DLR/Bozak/Vet

VGK does not need him, but teams like the pens, caps, and Flyers do. But many of them can’t hold his contract. Faulk will be very hard to move

So many teams have the same cap issues. Just no trading him without taking equal him back. And really has NTC comes into effect and certainly the six year term of his contract scares off any team.

Why are we trying to trade him? People keep perpetuating that he's bad because he got off to a rough start in a covid season where he didn't even play on his preferred side. I expect Armstrong to use this year as a true measure of his strength and worst case scenario they put a sweetener for Seattle to get their blueline quarterback.

Wait for someone else to sign an ugly 7 year contract, hope STL likes them more than Faulk (hard, considering they traded for and extended him, so they must think pretty highly of him) and try and make a lateral move.

That whole situation still boggles my mind, Faulk isn't and never has been borderline elite and they gave him borderline elite money. I think you're stuck with him

We give him PP time this season and inspire his buddy Ron Francis to grab him in the expansion draft. Shazam.

Since you lobbed this one up the answer to your question is:

You tell him to "get the Faulk out of here!"

Since his extension also added a NTC to his final year of his previous contract, you have to figure he's going to use that clause, so he's not being traded anywhere he doesn't want to go. Your only sure fire way to get rid of him is to pay Seattle to select him.

"CONTRACT NOTE: Faulk signed a 7 year contract extension on September 24, 2019 which also included a Full No Trade Clause be added to the final year of his current deal"

you don't, the Blues don't have anyone that can play second pairing RHD. The right side will be Paryako, Faulk, Bortuzzo. Personally, I think they need to find someone to play in Borts spot and let him be a 7th. Also, there were times in the playoffs last year that Faulk was the best D-man playing. Give him a year on the right side and see what happens imo
