add a 3rd/4th from WPG? i figured an NHL defenseman with 2 years left on his ELC has more value now

vegas is cash strapped and would benefit from a player on league minimum salary imo. could see them adding one of the remaining free agent forwards too if they shed cap

“Cash strapped” isn’t utilized correctly in this scenario considering Foley just announced a 9 billion dollar acquisition. What you mean is limited cap space which is different than “cash strapped”. Lehner is also LTIR for a bit which opens up 5M but they do need to move a couple million.

You are right. Jets fan here and the guy is really good. Tough he hasn’t been able to stick with all the wack injuries last year but he was pegged to be in the starting lineup last year (even starting on the first pair). Obviously he dealt with a lot of injuries but he could be a dominant top 4 d-man in the nhl if he can clean up little things like defending on the rush

One thing some scouts had problems with for him was that he was skinny (not underweight, idk if it’s the body type or something but still). Apparently he has put on even more weight this past offseason and if one of Samberg or heinola don’t stick, I could see him becoming a regular. That said, I think both stick and he’s on his way out. Sad because he wants to be in Winnipeg but it’s probably best for him to look elsewhere. He’s a regular on most nhl blue lines, the jets just have too many 5/6 d which is where he would start

Really makes me mad when people say he’s trash or something when they know nothing about him. Anyone who has seen him play knows he’s an nhl defensemen who is oozing with potential. He’s just been very unlucky

Just because Foley's business acquisitions for outlayed an abundance 9f cash does not necessarily mean he intends to spread no expense and lose additional money on his hockey team this year. Many of the wealthier owners in sports have routinely been very tight financially with their budgets

Cash strapped - adjective [usu ADJ n] If a person or organization is cash-strapped, they do not have enough money to buy or pay for the things they want or need.

We can have an argument about Foley’s liquidity but I’m completely right in that isn’t the correct use of that word.
