Not that any if this is realistic, but what happens next year? Or the year after that?

Idk, they have been talking about trading him for awhile, this way they get a younger guy who will probably out score Johnny hockey at this point for the rest of his career.

More then enough money off the books next year to resign Laine and a UFA G, which they will probably have to do either way. Plus resign some depth player and promote some prospects. Flip Johnny hockey in the offseason, if he ask for to much

Laine will want $10m+, unless the UFA goalie make $1m, then no there won't be more than enough to re-sign Laine.

And no matter what one of Rielly or Gaudreau would be gone the next year, so that's a 1 or 2 yr window tops to contend for that group.

Not a great plan.

No.

Yep, significantly worse at defense up front, especially on the top lines, and no improvements on defence and at best the bottom 6 is a slight upgrade

Are you honestly serious with your statement, or you just being sarcastic?

There is no upgrade on D. I was just fiddling with rumours. Not that any of these trades are rumours but just in general. Johnny hockey and Nylander have been in and out of the rumour mill for some time now, just thought why not a one for one, picks or prospects could be added to even out. Just wanted to see what Johnny would look like in the Leafs, however, I think if he can play at his peak he would improve the offence considerably for Toronto.

Laine trade. I tried to add as much as I could that would help fill WPGs holes. Top 4 D and center depth. But it's hard to make both fan bases happy so added more knowing WPG fans want a more solidified top 4 D and a 2nd line C. This is also under assumption, Laine makes it utterly clear he wants out and this trade package rivals any other offers. Adding Hutchinson was just a joke.

The goalie swap was just to get under cap, both UFAs either way.

I"m not sure value Hyman has but I read a click bait rumour a few days ago that outlined the possible need to move Hyman. The Leafs may not have room to sign his depending on what he asks. I know there was trade talks about the Oilers wanting to trade a RW for a LW. So I figured why not make a trade between these teams. I'm an Oilers fan so I might be a bit biased here but I think this is a decent trade. Hyman on McDavid a wing.

Overall the top 6 is much better offensively, the powerplay will get much better. With Dermott gone Sandin gets a spot. I think overall the team is better.
