Sanford looks like a decent 3LW, but he would fill the same roll Nick Paul fills, and Paul can also play centre. There’s no need to give a 2nd round pick for a player that isn’t needed, and can’t be protected in the expansion draft. This doesn’t make sense for the Sens.

One of my biggest pet peeves is people wanting to convert defenseman with perceived defensive issues to wing. There are some guys who might succeed in that roll, but Dunn isn’t one of them. It’s a totally different skill-set.

Only guys I can see do that are DeAngelo and Burns. I 100% agree with you.

There’s definitely others that might be better suited as wingers, but they’re rare. Risto could probably play top-9 wing much more effectively than D imo

This does bring up an interesting point tho, what are the rules around assigning a player a specific position so that they are catalogued a certain way for the expansion draft.

wrong. Parayko is Top 3 defensively in the league. Krug is still really good offensively. Scandella and Bortuzzo can hold their own. Faulk is my problem. Obviously we have Perunovich and Mikkola moving up the board so if they did move Dunn there it's not completely terrible.
