Description

By all accounts, Vegas is shopping Pacioretty. They don't really have much leverage here so the price probably wouldn't be exorbitantly high. Devils are more than likely looking for a proven scorer to work with Hughes.

I would rather the Devils pay more and try to push for Marchessault who was also reported as being shopped by Vegas. For a Paccioretty trade they don't have much leverage and this would be fine but I doubt he doesn't have NJ on his no-trade list this year.

Blackwood should also be locked up on a longer term deal for a little more money. I think he will massively outplay this contract and ask for a lot more next offseason if it is a 1 year deal.

I generally agree, but I just think they'll just end up extending Blackwood and Bratt one or two year deals with the economics going on.
