Mantha is more valuable to detroit because he is younger. He also is less money against the cap but with detroit that isn't really an issue. Also Kane means more to Chicago than he does to detroit.

Dude are you serious? Mantha is 6 years younger then Kane and fits our rebuild timeline. Kane has 3 years left and Detroit wont be contending even with Kane. It's a crap trade and Detroit's 2021 1st round pick > then Chicago's 2021 1st round pick.

You really going to compare Kane to Mantha? Get serious Kane is a future hall of famer i'm not disputing that Kane is by far the better player that's not up for debate. But Mantha is much younger and fits our rebuild timeline. Patrick Kane wouldn't even waive his NMC for Detroit so it's a pretty moot point.

Who cares? Kane also played on a by far better Chicago squad, No ones debating that Detroit sucks and is having trouble scoring. but Patrik Kane by himself doesn't make Detroit any better and plus he's more expensive then Anthony Mantha.

Yeah Mantha does. He just didnt get to play a full season because he got body smashed by Muzzin. Mantha is also a lot better defensively than Kane. Mantha is a borderline elite defensive forward, while Kane is the worst defensive forward in the league

Detroit's arguably worse then Chicago, Therefore their pick is worth more and the better pick. So Detroit would decline. You're talking about a top 5 pick for Detroit compared to a bottom 10 pick for Chicago in a weaker draft yet.

Helm and Glendening deals end after 2021 season so we get more cap to sign Hronek and Zadina plus. Taking on Kane cap hamstrings us moving forward. Kane is a great player but it does not improve the team whereas cap and ability to improve with out trading players does. Kane versus Mantha is not even close, but Mantha and cap flexibility to take on bad contracts and get picks to stock the farm on a rebuilding team beats Kane, his cap and age all which work against this trade.

Also why in earth would Wings trade 1st round picks and move back in the draft?
