that extra $750K of cap space (after accounting for paying two league min guys to sit in the press box) will be vital to our eventual championship

The reason Vegas would trade Patches, is to get big relief, not to retain half his salary. Doubt if Columbus wants that additional cap hit of Tavares.
You really think Tavares waives his NMC for Columbus?
Then if all this pans out in the trades, you have cap space. Then why trade the dependable and cost efficient Holl for nothing shakes head
