Pens trade Vegas

Created by: PGHBOB69
Team: 2020-21 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 11, 2020
Published: Dec. 11, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Vegas Gets a top 4 LHD, 24 years old on a reasonable, long term deal. Still has potential too.

They get a good prospect in Legare. Almost NHL ready. He scored 3 goals in 2 preseason games last training camp. And made the Pens sign him to a two way contract. He almost won a roster spot. He’s 6’0, 205, he is physically ready. A top 6 RW potential. Right-Handed shot. And knowing how Vegas has done with prospects, I bet he becomes an all-star.

Vegas gets A.Angello 6’5, 210 pound, power forward. Bottom 6. Got alittle NHL experience last season for the Pens when they had some injuries. He should be the 1st call-up this year if he doesn’t win a roster spot.

Plus 2 second round picks.

And get the cap space provided by getting rid of Pacioretty.

**Vegas is never gonna get back equal value to what they gave up. Unless they hit on a prospect or a pick and get lucky like Montreal did with Suzuki. So taking a prospect package and picks is their best bet to get back that Suzuki value. The prospect package in Legare/Angello and the two 2nd round picks, plus a proven NHL defensemen that is still young and still has potential there too, is good value IMO.

The only other big contract that Vegas has, that they can/should get rid of, is MA Fluery.. I looked at thei roster. There isn’t even another players contract worth taking for them. None of them are bad except Fluery’s and Pacioretty’s. And Fluery’s wouldn’t be bad if he was a starting goaltender. Trade him to Carolina. Or Edmonton or Buffalo. They need Goalie help IMO.

not even feasible let alone an overpay.
A. they have to pay marino next year, there is no cap space there, nor anyway to create it unless you move a large salary.
B. VGK has no choice but to move cap. They are in the same spot they were with the Schmidt trade. Where they gave a good player up for nothing.

Yep, everyone was trying, I’d figure I’d give it my take!! U have to admit it’s better than probably any other one You’ve Seen so far..lol. I’ve seen everything from Rust and Zucker for Pacioretty. To line combinations of moving Guentzel to the RW..lol.. I mean, some wild sh*t. Atleast this makes sense!! Lol.

And bye-bye McCann in the expansion draft with this trade. Or Pacioretty. And then we traded all that for a 1 year rental..lol.

yeah I mean Max isn't really a fit here. It doesn't work cap wise, expansion draft wise, and it's not worth the cost to the penguins of what people keep asking for. Not that he'll get that.
I think people are going to come down to earth when teams here have to start making cap space. There are a few teams over right now, and that's not changing. There will be deals to be had for some team if they want them.

Yes, I agree. Comparing it to other ACGM that Penguins fans have done though!! It’s a A+ compared to the others!!

Without someone eating a lot of Pacioretty's cap, there is no real way for him to go to Pittsburgh.

There is also no reason to give up that much for him. People also need to get off of the "trade Legare" bandwagon.
