If you are asking who I would like on our team I would pick Eichel

For anyone wanting an analysis of their ability to play hockey, don’t bother clicking. It’s an analysis of numbers trying to make something subjective objective.

It would be interesting to swap them, just to see if AM would be as good if he were playing for a garbage team

I dont get why people keep this debate going... its not really close. Pettersson and Point are way closer to Matthews than Eichel

watch the first part of the video where he brings up linemates, do you know how long ranking playerrs would take if you nitpick everyones linemates and compare them

Couldn’t agree more. The best part is while trying to make it objective he throws in his own subjective opinion on linemates.

Can’t they both just be awesome? Say what you want about Eichel’s linemates but he puts that team on his back every single night. Certainly far more than Matthews is ever asked to. I consider them both top 5 centres in the league. Of course I take Matthews but I’m biased.

Point Matthews Eichel and McKinnon are all very close. Eichel is very underrated.

It’s gotten to the point where its the difference between critical thinking and memorization

He’s always had decent line mates even though they took skinner away from him this year the team around him has always been bad. If he has an off night the Sabres don’t win. Teams go into every game with the goal of shutting down Eichel and taking their chances with Reinhart.

Eichel isnt a top 5 centre
Mackinnon is a tier ahead of these guys

Point, Matthews and Pettersson are really close

Opinions differ, I put Pettersson lower and those 4 on the same tier

Pettersson beats Eichel in almost every stat category other than basic simpleton stats

That poster doesn’t have opinions. He reads charts and thats all. He has dermott as a better d man than Seth jones.

So the most important ones? Eichel is a beast on a team with no help. He has no difficulty playing that part either. If Eichel were not in the sabres I would be surprised if they won more than 5 games.

Not all things can be summed up on a stat sheet either.

Yup Dermott does very well on the stat sheet but he just hasn’t broken out yet. You have to actually watch hockey to realize that he may never break out and hit his potential.

i know hes been hurt, but stamkos imo isnt on that tier anymore, and id add point to tier 2

I can get on board with your statements. I’d say Point is on the verge of tier 2. Stammer I feel will bounce back. Lots of good play left in him.
