Markstrom had groin injuries at the end of last season and towards the end of Vancouver's playoff run. I would rather keep the reliable backup over the 150k cap space and a 3rd

What’s the point on trading 1 crappy goalie for another?

I think the Sabres would pass

Well most of his bad games happened in the 2nd half of the season when he was injured. A backup is expected to play around 30-40 games a year so here is Rittich's stats in the first half of the season vs the 2nd half.

Regardless of if you think Rittich is a good backup or not he is leagues better than Hutton who couldn't stop a puck shot into his chest.

AS I ALREADY SAID:
“What’s the point in trading 1 crappy goalie for ANOTHER?”

Rittich blows- we don’t want him
His career gaa is 2.82
His career sv% is .908
Or has he been injured his whole career 😂😂😂

Our focus should be on the ARZ goalies for the upgrade we need

I dont disagree that Buffalo should focus on one of the Arizona goalies but there is no chance Calgary is jeopardizing a playoff spot for a measly 3rd round pick. Rittch has the nickname Big Save Dave for a reason, he is incredibly streaky. He will go from 3 weeks in a row of a .925+ sv% to around .900 the next 3. He can be very clutch 1 game then **** the bed the next. If you actually watched him instead of just looking at his entire career stats you would know that.

FYI he also got injured in the 2nd half of last year too

DUDE, u can keep Rittich- WE DON’T WANT HIM

AND I’M NOT THE ONE WHO PROPOSED THIS DUMB TRADE

Finally,
Having good stretches here & there & still having mediocre career stats show he the exact OPPOSITE of “reliable”

I'm not arguing Rittich is a reliable starter. I am arguing he is more reliable than your AHLer as a backup.

Hutton has better career stats
BOTH are crappy goalies
Even IF Rittich is better, it’s NOT a significant upgrade-
which is what we need

AGAIN, and for the LAST time,
there’s no point on trading 1 crappy goalie for another

Clearly you have not watched Hutton play. How you are describing Rittich is identical to the player Hutton is. The difference is Hutton has better career numbers over a bigger sample size. Last year Huttons worse he had a vision issue that led to a 12 game stretch of aweful hockey that ruined his season. .850 save percentage over that span. Over .925 the rest of the year. After having corrective surgery he regained form. He is not great but definitely just as if not more reliable than rittich

even though i thought i laid things out very clearly
