Looking at this team it seems to me that this team did improve I like the additions of Timashov and the possibility of one of the young kids coming up and playing. As I said I think they have improved but let me know if you think otherwise.

Flip whalstrom and clutter and it’s likely a slight improvement from last year but not what the team needed unless wally absolutely dominates out of the gate

Timashov won’t be a 3rd line player for them either. That will be Brassard or Bellows.

I feel like sorokin is going to dominate right away which is going to result in trotz inserting more grinders in the lineup and not worry about scoring.

Why would any team give up any assets for Leo

I’m thinking a rotation between MDC Komarov and Timashov (not ideal but my guess to what trotz does)

I gotta agree but I’m gonna hold out hope that somehow some way someone like Beau turns into a machine for 30-40 games this season and puts up massive numbers

Beauvillier was the best winger on the team last season. He’s in the 86th percentile for goals per 60 min. Just increase his minutes and he’s goood for a 30 goal pace

In: Timashov

Out: Toews, Boychuk

Prospects: Bellows, Wahlstrom, Dobson (full season), Sorokin

I’d say it depends on the prospect. If any of the guys I mentioned gets off to a hot start, look out. Otherwise, losing Toews really, really hurts.

lou/trotz are going to re-sign brassard , bury wahlstrom/bellows in BPT again and roll with a brassard-pageau-komarov 3rd line.

I’d really like to see Ho Sang get an opportunity to compete for a spot. I still think he can be productive.

With Sorokin in , Wahlstorm, Dobson or Kiovola in
Out: Towes
I think if Dobson performs well than the team is the same maybe a few more wins with Sorokin.
It all comes down to Dobson and Wahlstrom to determine how the isles will do

They tanked the offseason the moment they chose Leddy over Toews. And I won't even call it a wash until we know Barzal will be back for next season

And they think 40 year old greene can handle playing every game in a condensed season...

Ugggghhhhh probably right. But you have to wonder why Lou’s so against trading his prospects. Otherwise, just trade Wahlstrom and Wilde for a top line Winger and be done with it.

I hope Im wrong lol - I would trade wahlstrom for a top line winger under the age of 26 , but I wouldn't trade him for an older top 6 player. He has the exact skillset the team needs right now.

I'm really interested to see what they do with wilde in terms of development. He's pretty ho-sang on defense but hes physical. His go to move is going end to end, deking out the D and going top shelf. Trotz isn't going to allow that lol

Then I say package the two prospects for Ehlers. In a perfect world, I’d want to build through prospects, but Trotz and Lou are the worst possible combination for that.

There’s no reason for WPG to trade ehlers. At the end of the day, we don’t have cap space and we need players producing on ELC. They’re going to have to play them at some point or else they’re going to run the team into the ground.

From what I’ve heard (no source, sorry), Ladd has drawn zero interest from around the league, even as a cap dump with a considerable pick or prospect bribe. Ladd has to realize he’s never playing in the NHL again, so Lou might be able to get him to LTIRetire. And if that happens, then we can pursue a forward either in IFA or through a trade. But we’ll see.

I wouldn’t mind Hoffman on a 1 year deal. Cant think of anyone available that would be a big upgrade via trade
