Few things worth noting, when these results are compared to the same forum being polled but a year previous the biggest climbers and fallers are Dostal up 5 spots, Thrun up 10, and then Benoit and Groulx up 3, meanwhile the biggest fallers are Guhle down 3, McLaughlin down 4, and Morand down 6.

I'd put Mahura above Groulx and then say there's a good chance we see the top 9 listed in the NHL in the next two or three years.

Keep an eye out for Jack Badini. I'm hoping for more from him than the bottom three.

I’d say I agree with that, I would also bump Thrun up a spot and then move Moore and Nickl above Guhle.

Not a very strong list after the top 2 names. Ducks are going to be bad for a few more seasons. Its time to start selling off vets for futures.

I’d say it doesnt really drop off to lack of strong top 4/top 6 potential until after Thrun or maybe Tracey

Before world juniors I wanted to get something understood and established, and that is what do Ducks fans think the absolute ceiling and expected product is for our mid tier prospects (Thrun, Colangelo, LaCombe), and see if the WJC changes that at all.

For Thrun I would say absolute ceiling is top pairing shutdown Dman who isn’t bad offensively and is a bit physical, essentially Jaccob Slavin but maybe a little toned down. Thrun has already exceeded expectations and numerically (I’m not an advanced stat guy but sometimes they do help an argument out) was the third best Dman from 2019 in his D+1 year. In terms of what I expect he will be, I think he will be a good top 4 defensive D who will be most impactful on the penalty kill, solid well rounded, top 4 but not elite.

For LaCombe I’m much more up in the air, on one hand I feel like if he puts it all together he can be something really special but at the same time I could also see him not really making it in the bigs. If I had to say what I thought his overall ceiling was I guess I’ll go with an top 4 Offensive Dman that helps out on the PP, kind of a TJ Brodie type. Meanwhile if I had to describe what I expect out of him I would say I honestly dont know, I suppose I’ll lowball and say he will be a top pair AHL guy who gets called up to the Nhl to fill holes.

lastly Colangelo, I would say for overall ceiling 2nd line power winger who is a major component of both special teams. Alex Tuch but a bit more consistent maybe. And as for what I expect, I would say 3rd line winger who is helpful on the PK, and provides a good physical presence.

TL; DR essentially I want to gauge what my fellow Ducks fans think of these prospects, specifically what their ceilings are and what the expected value is, and have that recorded and see if any of that changes post WJC.

I’m not a big prospects guy but the kids that have appeared in the NHL already need to improve quickly. I’m hoping Drysdale and Zegras become what they’re hoped to be but the rest of guys you have listed I don’t know much about. And we should wait to see how Dostal transitions to the NA game to truly evaluate his NHL prospects.
