Please leave feedback on the trades

Description
Totally out of left field on a few of these.
Not sure any of the 3 teams make the trades I have here
But to me my reasoning makes sense to me
Tampa trade
Johnson would play a similar role to pavalski and could be a plus player for us, Killorn is a solid player. Tampa desperately needs to shed salary we get lucky and take advantage.

Dallas trade
Losing Kane sucks but in 2 years we need cap to resign Hertl
Pavalski contract is up when Hertl’s is so this works, Dallas gets an offensively gifted forward who is 8 years younger than Pavalski for a 3rd and won’t increase payroll.

Detroit
Gets a still serviceable albeit grossly overpaid D man 2 firsts and sharks eat 2 mill a year making Vlasic less of a negative player.

Please no negative rude comments if the trades don’t work offer up a counteroffer to contemplate. This isn’t me thinking I’m a genius, this is me fishing and seeing if anyone thinks teams will bite.

I gave up both 21 picks over one each from 21 & 22 cause 22 looks like a stronger draft so I’d prefer more picks from that draft.

People don't read the team descriptions as often as they should here so I'll repost this for OP here:

"Please no negative rude comments if the trades don’t work offer up a counteroffer to contemplate. This isn’t me thinking I’m a genius, this is me fshing and seeing if anyone thinks teams will bite."

OP thanks for encouraging more constructive patterns here and hopefully folks keep this in mind

Neat ideas here, maybe a 3 way trade between TB SJ DET be doable or compelling perhaps, felt like it was a bit of a natural progression there, my one concern was Vlasic having too long a contract and declining steadily, if only teams could retain term lol amirite awesome face

Lol it would be cool if 2years could be voided, that would make things a lot more palatable, Vlasic deal is scary even with cap space, without cap its horrible.

Hmm. I mean in my opinion the Vlasic trade is enough to dump his contract, but I just wouldn't do that as the Sharks. Really not a good idea to give up so many futures especially if we're retaining 30% of his cap hit for 6 years. Just too absurd in my opinion.

Tampa trade is asking for too much value from the Bolts I think as well. Johnson's contract is bad and we would be helping tampa with like 8.5 million in cap which is significant but not enough to justify that price. Take out the 2nd and one 1st and I think it's more fair.

Dallas trade is just not great for the Sharks either. Pavelski was the heart and soul of this team but Kane is a really nice piece too. I'd rather keep his contract and his production which will still be present for years to come than do what's basically a 1 for 1 swap for an older, slower player on a shorter and more restrictive contract.

Well, I'll try not to be rude.

1. It's Joe Pavelski, not Joe Pavalski.

2. That Dallas trade isn't going to fly. First of all, Pavs has a full NMC this season, and I doubt very much that he waives it to go from the team he just went to the finals with back to the team that wasn't interested in re-signing him. They sold their house here, he's not coming home. Second, while I realized that the Sharks desperately need to shed cap, I don't think that shedding it in the form of a reliable 30 goal winger is really the way to do it - especially not for a player who is significantly older and slower and lower scoring (2018-19 notwithstanding).

3. MEV's contract is so godawful in so many ways, but potentially the worst bit of it is that pesky full NMC that he got Doug Wilson to agree to. I genuinely cannot see him waiving that to move to Detroit, but possibly more importantly, I don't think Stevie Y. is particularly interested in breaking his slow and careful rebuild to take on six years of a rapidly aging and increasingly bad defenseman. And yes, that bribe could maybe work, but given that we're in an on the fly retool ourselves, it would be foolish in the extreme to just throw away two first round picks like that - and yes, I follow the draft too and understand that 2022 will be a badass strong draft class, but we definitely could use an elite LD and it looks like the 2021 draft class might just have a few of those. (Would I give my left earlobe to get Owen Power on a d-pairing with EK65? You betcha.)

I have no alternate trades to offer here - there's a reason I don't publish a lot of rosters on here when I'm sober and it's that I'm terrible at knowing what non-Sharks are really worth. I am, however, very aware of the value that current and former Sharks have and I think your estimates here are unrealistic.

While MEV is a serviceable d man now down the road he will be a guy making 5 million in the press box and a drain on the cap for the Wings. Yzerman has made deals both in FA and trades with short terms on them. Highly doubt he makes this deal as MEV has several more years of term and is already 33 and will be getting paid until he is 40. Just not a trade a rebuilding club makes even for to 1st round picks. When those picks come up for resigning in 4 years he will still be on the books.

I put MEV right up there with some of the worst contracts in the NHL and do not see a real deal with him involved unless you sell the farm so to speak. It is just unmovable as this point.

Zero chance i see either Johnson or Killorn waiving for San Jose, Both are losing money due to the shortened season. And California's high taxes eats even more. Johnson and Killorn aren't waiving from No State income tax Florida for the highest income tax rate in the Nation in California.

Killorn is tradable and no premium is needed
Vlasic has no motivation to waive his NTC to a poor team
Gotta believe Cup finalists Dallas keeps Pavelski for two years and then have cap space as opposed to long term Kane.

Killorn is worth a second round pick. Tyler contract is a liability but not that bad for two first round picks, The players offered probably do not make the Tampa team. How good is Yurtaykin?> He was undrafted.

Statements like this might actually make it worse at least here at CapFriendly, a bunch of members that will do the exact opposite of what you ask.

True but those are the jerks and I can Ignore or block them, the rest of us who discuss things and post their ideas in a productive form are the people I’m focused on.

I agree Vlasic isn't waiving for a bad team. I also agree Killorn but to a playoff team or team on the verge of being a playoff team. With his age the teams at the bottom aren't going to give much to get him.
