Yeah, definitely worth more. Realistically, the Leafs and Canes don't really match up on a Pesce trade. Both teams are playoff contenders, so trading major pieces isn't really in the cards. Also, if Dougie Hamilton walks after this season, they'd be left with Fleury and nobody else as RD's.

Problem is there is also a GM for other teams. And as a rule they don’t make trades that are not beneficial to their team. Some screw up every now and then, they are human, but Canes decline. Easily. 🤷🏻‍♂️

There is a difference between trade value and value to team. They simply can’t afford to trade Pesce with the threat of losing Hamilton looming.

Bean is a LD that is offense first puck mover, Pesce is RD defense first. Bean is not a replacement for Pesce. And there is the problem with them moving Pesce. No replacement ready. They lose Hamilton and suddenly their top 2 RD are gone and that side is decimated. Just like Jets when they went from Buff/Myers/Trouba to nothing in a span of a year.
