I am asking other CF users for their protection lists for their teams and trying to figure out who SEA could pick.
I'm going off the info and lists I've received and I haven't taken the time to research all these teams so if there are some names missing, please let me know.
(I'll give the options based on protection lists given by CF users.)
the pick is my initial thought. feel free to correct me...or give an alternate opinion.
Who are the mot appealing picks for SEA?
Also, who are "cap dumps" SEA might take for a price?

Yes and no, our center depth isn't what it used to be, As much as i'd like to see him go because of contract, I hate to not have his talent on third line center. so I think I'd prefer Holl, especially if Sandin- Dermoott and Lehtonen can have a really nice year.

For the Avs It depends on if EJ waives his NMC as well as if Grubauer/Saad sign extensions. Also depends on if anybody breaks out this season (Jost maybe)

Miller, Montour are better. Borgen and Johansson otherwise. But if they get a high pick, it could happen.
Minnesota and Tampa will probably want to protect 4 defensemen.
Note that Arizona will want to protect OEL and Chychrun, and everybody else who's eligible (other than prospect Capobianco) is a UFA, so the Coyotes will have to either re-up Oesterle or Lyubushkin before the expansion draft or else acquire a defenseman at the TDL in order to qualify a blue-liner.
Anaheim will be exposing a quartet of young LD's whom Seattle might find more interesting than Shattenkirk. Dobber Prospects rates them all (Djoos, Guhle, Larsson, Mahura) NHL-quality.

I dont agree. Yeah Burns's money would be good to get rid of but hes honestly very good still and will be for a while. Simek is no real loss to me, so id only lose Burns with some payment. True is a guy you can find a million of, Dahlen not so much.

"Dahlen not so much" he was playing a little better than Marcus Sorensen... and that's not easy to find...
Crazy fast, steady 20G scorer if healty, can play up and down the line up(LW and RW too), very efficient on PK, good leader with training ethics.
This is the best asset SEA can get out of MTL (apart from Allen). Way better than Fleury, who might become a regular 3rd pairing at best.
So make MTL pay a prospect or a pick, maybe retain 1M, and get Byron.
He get injured again? Put him on ltir, make the insurance pay and use your 30 players roster to fill the hole. No biggy. You still have a future asset in your back pocket.
