I would be surprised to see Hamonic signed to such a low amount. Calgary also arn't in a position to be taking on Holl's cap hit without moving out money the other way. They've got no space, an RFA left to sign and would like to re-sign Hamonic as well.

He reportedly only wants to play for a Canadian team which reduces his options. In a normal year he could probably play for an American team and rebuild his value, but if the Canadian teams only play in Canada, it's even less likely

True but he also wants to stay on the west coast. For a 1 million AAV, he'd stay in Calgary. The Flames taking on a more expensive D here in Holl makes no sense.

I'd take him at 2 and use him to expose in the expansion draft over hamonic at 1

holl had some good chemistry with muzzin

Don't you think he would have signed by now, if they wanted him?

The market was at a standstill while they were negotiating the CBA. There have been reports today that the Canucks want to sign Hamonic they're just waiting for Ferland to go on LTIR

Calgary(and Vancouver) needs to make cap space. They have none and still have Kylington to sign as well.

No, until a season was confirmed as well as the recent vaccine release I think he was going to hold out. He opted out of the playoffs for his families sake

Kylington will be sub 1M on a 2-way contract. Vancouver are expected to have Ferland on LTIR and may bury Baertschi again. Both teams can afford him at 1M

Neither of those things are finalized yet which is answer to Seven's ponderance of why Hamonic hasn't signed yet.
