If he's as bad this year as we was last year, I think it's close to immovable, especially with a full NMC.

If he improves, maybe you can get positive value back, assuming they take some money back. I think it would be advantageous to both the Rangers and any potential trade partners to hold onto him through 2022 - that's another year off the deal and two years of a bounce-back from 19-20 is more appealing than just one.

Soap & water nyuk nyuk nyuk 😉

In all seriousness *sombre voice* THERE IS NO WAY TO DISPOSE OF TROUBA HE IS YOURS FOR TIME ETERNAL AND- okay sorry uh, yeah super tricky

Ottawa are managed by clowns, need RD badly and are desperate to be relevant again... but he'd only waive for a contender, tho maybe he'd waive for an very promising situation where instead of Fox and Sharknado competing for his job it's Zaitsev etc.

Don't forget part of picking NYR was for his wife/gf's career. Doubt a move to Ottawa would be that appealing to their family.

As @Barilko14 said he only signed with the Rags because his fiancée (maybe wife now) school and career in the medical field. He also wanted out of Canada because something about his father not being able to enter Canada or something like that. If I recall correctly he said NY, Florida, or Michigan.

With so many teams near the cap, he certainly can't be traded without the Rangers taking similar cap back in a trade. Trouba is overpaid now as the 6th highest Dman in the league. He's just a any value with that contract. And never mind his NMC.

Trouba has a full NMC, He's not going to agree to waive it for Seattle. Especially with his future Wife going to be a Dr in New York City. Like it or not you're stuck with him for the foreseeable future.

Take a chill pill, Trouba will be fine. Guy didn't have a solid partner all year and played his best defensive hockey towards the end of the season believe it or not with Smith of all people.

I'm not really worried about his abilities. I think he's a capable top 4 D, even if he never gets back to his Winnipeg level, but with so many RHD coming up I feel like he's going to become the odd man out. Fox, Lundkvist, Schneider are all RHD who belong in the (future) top 4 as it is, not to mention Miller and Robertson on the left. I can't imagine paying a guy 8 mil to be a third pair D.
