Doesn't work for Minnesota. We don't want either of those players.

He is our #1 center. We don't know if Lindholm would be a good center in our system so I don't think Flames do this till the middle of the season if Lindholm does do a good center job or if he doesn't our #1 would be Backlund

Exactly lol. Monny who had a “down season” and Buch who had the best year of his career, Monny still had more Goals and points
LOL

That Calgary deal is insultingly unfair for the flames. Monahan is 26 and has three 30 goal seasons, 5 seasons of 27+, and has never failed to score 20+. Buchnevich is an absolute nobody in the context of a trade for monahan.

To get a guy like that, you’re going to have to give up something that really hurts, not the things you don’t really care about.

That deal is truly awful, and you knew it. Hence having to add that you think it’s fair.

It's the equivalent to Calgary offering Mangiapane + 2 2nds for Zibanejad

Maybe add Kaapo or Lafreniere to the deal instead of the picks... That sounds good.

Agreed but if Dumba returns to form this is a great deal for NYR (which, to be clear, is an "if"). Problem is the point of trading Dumba would be to get help up front and I don't think Strome will be the same player without Panarin and we'd lose Deangelo to expansion. It doesn't make a ton of sense for the Wild, even if it is an overpayment.

Dumba trade is brutal. But i'm guessing it was done for political reasons.
