Can someone explain to me how tf Buffalo expects to compete with Ullmark and Hutton as their goalies?

Arizona doesn't need another defenseman.

I don't think many people are arguing they are a cup favorite. However as being a team that can make the playoffs and perhaps win a round there goaltending is sufficient. Ot would be hard to argue they are in any worse shape than was Edmonton, Calgary, Carolina or Colorado was last year

Ullmark is good, Hutton is pretty bad. Ullmark will have to play the majority of the games.

Do taxi squad players have to clear waivers??

If not Arizona has no reason to trade Raanta. Hill can be put on taxi squad without being exposed to waivers...

.915 save percentage isn’t bad at all. .930 at even strength too.

The PK made the Sabres look bad last year.
Ullmark looks better every year.
He seems to have fixed two major flaws from two years ago, five hole and wrap arounds.
I cannot remember a single wrap around and there were certainly fewer five hole goals than last year.
Only 8 teams gave up fewer even strength goals than Buffalo.
With an improved offense, the GK will appear to be better even it equals last years results.
More aggressive PK will cut down on the goal against.
While this Eastern Division will be tough, the Sabres WILL be better as well.

Yes, I'm pretty sure waiver rules apply to the players on the taxi squad, similar to sending them down to the AHL.

@Banks @CapFriendly

Will the AGM page be updated to include a "taxi squad" column?

Correct, but Arizona wouldn't put Hill on the taxi squad. They'd just keep him on the active roster, he's being paid the same money either way.

Arizona's incentive to trade Raanta is twofold. They want to save money, and they want to reclaim some draft picks after losing a bunch to league punishment. Trading Raanta can accomplish both of that, and because they have Hill they can afford to lose him.
