Description
Without Marchand and Pasternak, along with an aging Rask, we can expect a sloppy season from the bruins. The capital's goaltending is a problem, and I wonder how their top 6 will perform. Oilers without Klefbom will have very bad defense. Expect a goals against average of 4.The all Canadian division will not help. We got a taste of the penguins offseason strength, and the islanders lost their top of the league defense. The Jets still seem underwhelming. The coyotes and the preds seem to have done nothing to advance. Vancouver failed to make up for the player's they lost. Expect nice jumps by NYR and St louis. Calgary got a huge goaltending boost.

totally agree with the WSH/BOS takes...maybe playoffs for one of them but I expect a drop off from them

Marchand will miss 3-5 games at worst. Pastrnak, 2-4 weeks but Bruins have a good RW. "aging" Rask while he has been one of the best G the past years. They're probably not 1st again and D is a concern but not because of the reasons you listed.

Chicago being that high with their current defense and goaltending is unlikely. Rangers 11th? with their defense?

Something is off when you have the Leafs as a top 5 NHL team and no one takes issue with it. 2020 is clearly to blame. These are the end times we are living in.

I agree, I think Boston will tread water to start and turn it on by the end to lock down a spot. Washington could falter as well as Pittsburgh but also I think they both will make it. I actually think the Rangers could be a surprise team and I can just never fully trust Philly, not sure why but I don't. After the top 3 teams in the Pacific, anyone can finish 4th and Tampa could end up setting a record for points due to their weak division as well. It's going to be a weird season.

Disagree. Maple Leafs, Pens, Rangers, Canucks, Oilers (talk about goaltending issues) should not be over the Caps...Everyone is hyped up on the Rangers yet their defense got worse (great signing of Jack Johnson).

Considering the division they are in, it's fair. A worry I have is come playoffs how do you prepare for teams you haven't at all played this season?

Power rankings this year will be difficult to accurately assess. Like the top 3 in the Pacific will destroy their competition but not be nearly as good as their point totals suggest.
