Don’t think the Blues would be too interested in that. Doesn’t help us.

Sundqvist, Sanford, 3rd for Pettersson, Reese, 5th
Bad trade for Pittsburgh. Sundqvist is not a good contract. Sanford is okay. But if you are giving up (someone that is considered to be) a top-4 D you get more than an okay 3rd liner and a bad contract back.

Also, Sullivan ran both Sundqvist and Reaves out of town so he has no interest in those two returning.

If Sundqvist's contract is bad then so is Pettersson's. Who pays 4million x 5 for an average defensive defensemen with zero offensive upside anymore?

Crazy how "become harder to play against " almost always translates into "make the team worse"

There is absolutely nothing in this for the Blues, and it's quite amusing that they're the one you have adding the higher draft pick. What are the last things we need? Yet another LD and a checking line guy. And for this we give up a depth scorer on the rise who plays 200 ft. and our best bottom six guy.

That's a very stern no, followed a huge eye roll once we turn our back.

Pettersson is considered to be a "top-4" guy by the professional bloggers (ie: hockey writers). Sundqvist is bottom 6. Is.

Yeah, two bottom 6 guys and a 3rd for a top-4D, a bottom 6 guy, and a 5th. You are right, Hilarious.

Professional bloggers and hockey writers also voted to give a player with a negative goal differential the hart trophy, so don't always take their word for it alone.

Pettersson is a fine player and I agree he is a top four D (probably second pair ceiling) but my point is that neither him nor Sundqvist are on bad contracts, nor are they on particularly good contracts. Sundqvist isn't a bargain or anything but a guy who can hit 30 points anywhere in your bottom six while also being an above average PK'er while making less than three million for four years is a perfectly fine deal. Pettersson is also not a bargain- there's better players about the same age as him that signed similar contracts like Toews, Chychrun, and Pesce- but no one would say that it's bad either because he's good defensively and while there's not much to speak of offensively he's not holding you back either. But just because he plays a position with higher TOI doesn't mean he's inherently more valuable than a bottom six guy, especially when one scores and one doesn't.

Setting aside your kooky valuations (just for starters, ZAR is worth a good bit more than Pettersson, not that you seem to notice), what part of these two pieces are the last thing the Blues need did you miss? We have no room for more LD's, no room for more wannabe top 4 D's, no room for more D-men who offer nothing offensively, no room for more D of any kind and certainly no more room for bottom 6 defensive specialists. This package does nothing for the Blues.

Wowza. Oh, I get it. You just post opposite of reality. Your posts make much more sense now.
