You know what, that might actually work out. Granlund did perform much better under Hynes than under Laviolette, and a potential redemption year is exactly the kind of thing that would rebound his market value. Also, thumbs up to him to find a team that would give him $3.75M at peak COVID. Not easy, but he did it! Good for him!

Probably not. I threw it together quickly, but I'm having trouble seeing where everyone fits now, if Tomasino makes the team.

Because we have way too many middle/bottom 6 forwards. Wouldn’t be shocked to see a Jarnkrok trade but I’ve heard no rumors.

I wouldn't mind seeing...

Forsberg - Johansen - Arvidsson
Tolvanen - Duchene - Granlund (could swap Forsberg/Tolvanen too)
Jarnkrok - Tomasino - Kunin
Grimaldi - Richardson - Sissons
Cousins (I don't like this signing) - Trenin (I would be happy swapping Richardson for him too)

I know Poile has said he wants to see Sissons higher in the line-up, but we'll see where he eventually fits.

I wouldn't mind trying Tolvanen-Johansen-Arvidsson together, but as the 2nd line. I think Forsberg-Duchene-Granlund makes more sense as a top line. Agree about Sissons - I can't see him playing in the top six now.

Yeah, I agree making the Forsberg - Duchene - Granlund line 1 in that scenario.

If the OHL doesn’t start and Tomasino for whatever reason doesn’t make the team he will be on the taxi squad. I’d personally like to see him either center the 3rd line or play RW on it

I could see him starting but maybe splitting time on the taxi squad. Playing like ~40 games this year out of 56.

He’s kind of at that stage where I think he’s too good to play in the OHL but due to agreements between leagues he can’t play in the AHL yet. I’d rather him tag along and get games in the NHL then play in a league where he isn’t being challenged

I saw somewhere last night that the cutoff point for rookies is 7 games, instead of 9 this season. In what's going to be a unusual season to begin with, that's even less time to evaluate him. I wonder if a European league might be the best for his development, if he's not quite NHL ready.
