Based on last season, I don't think Savard is really an upgrade on Cole. But even with Cole it's really, really good.

So yes and no would be my answer.

I think you can get more out of Savard paired with Girard. On CBJ he's been given Murray and Nutivaara mostly. Plus Cole has been playing on his off-handed side.

I think going from Cole to Savard is lateral at best.

It's arguably the best in the Pacific Division as is.

Savard played with Gavrikov almost exclusively last season.

Nuttivaara was with Murray or Werenski.

Who played with Jones when he was healthy?

When everyone was healthy it was;
Werenski - Jones
Gavrikov - Savard
Murray - Nuttivaara/Kukan.

When Jones was hurt it was;
Werenski - Nuttivaara
Gavrikov - Savard
Two of (Murray, Peeke, Kukan, Harrington, and Carlsson) I think Murray and Kukan were hurt at that time as well, or Murray was just getting back.

My mistake, I always assumed Murray was 2LD when fully healthy

It’s all good. Murray is a Top 4 LHD, I’d say Nuttivaara is too. That’s just how deep Columbus was on the blue line last year when fully healthy and why we could so easily move both of them this offseason.

Peke probably earns a full time job making them THAT much deeper, it’s an underated blueline
