They are going to re-sign Hyman, he will take less to stay, maybe even 4.5

maybe, maybe not. He could get more elsewhere and I think he might.

Grass is greener situation. Toronto will be able to offer a competitive long term deal. He knows he's a key contributor for his hometown team.

Aside from a bit more $$ (possibly), will there be a better fit for him elsewhere?

He gets to play with one of Matthews or Tavares guaranteed. Played 19 min/game last year. He's on PK1. Often plays on PP2. First over the boards to protect a lead, and usually is on the ice crashing the crease if Leafs are down a goal late.

I mean if it's situation of money he might go elsewhere for a better deal, if it's more he wants the playing time he will stay which is why I said maybe, maybe not. Completely up in the blue right now I'm not in the head of Hyman so I wouldn't actually know. But I do know it is his hometown team which is why I think there is a chance he comes to play for them.

If not for the expansion draft, I think Hyman would be re-signed already. Think it's about 99% chance it's a pretty easy contract to hammer out. Team and player are both very happy with the current situation.

Freddy Andersen is the way bigger question mark this summer.

Unless Freddie singlehandedly wins the Leafs a playoff Rd (or two) he should be as good as gone next summer.

Hyman can re-sign before the Krakheads join the NHL; all the Leafs need to do is protect 7F/3D/1G ....Both Dermott or Holl gets exposed, no big deal.

Hyman's agent : ask for J. Anderson $$$ (5.5)
Dubas' offer : same range as C. Brown $$$ (3.6)

The contract signed : T. Toffoli $$$ (4.25)
