Cirelli walks after that offer. Think about it from his point of view, Tampa has 8 worse players making more than him at 1.5 Mil (Rutta, Coburn, Cernak, Paquette, Coleman, Killorn and Palat) it also makes him the 6the lowest paid player on the team and 4 of them are on ELC's

Sure insanity! He is due between 3.5 to 4.5 million in a bridge deal imo. If you work how about as your employer we pay you 40% of your salary. You would laugh and say no! I sure would.......

Wings pass per usual under 3% of the people on the site understand what red wings trades look like.

None of this is remotely close to good. Value is way off on Cirelli and the Wings trade is not even in the right hemisphere.

Columbus has so many grinders already, we don’t really have a need for Gourde, not that we have the salary room for him either.

Would do you want? You are giving up literally nothing for a couple high draft picks and a good player. Ottawa made these types of deals all the time.

Then this means either Corelli gets traded or Gourde, Johnson, Killorn, and one of Stamkos/McDonagh have to be traded.

A late 2nd and a late 3rd are not what I'd call high draft picks.
Detroit's looking for roster flexibility for their rebuild. An already declining, smaller forward over 30 who is only going to get slower and worse, is signed for $5M for another 4 seasons does not qualify as roster flexibility. Detroit also has several holes that need filling, and they're building through the draft. Seeking short term gains like Johnson would only hurt their draft position now, and he would regress enough to be absolute anchor before the contract is up.
All in all, Johnson hurts the Wings in the short term and in the long term. Regardless of how good he is now, he has extremely negative value to the Wings.
