Why would the Kings do that?

Why wouldn't they? Two serviceable roster players and a higher pick for a low one. They win in every possible way there.

In this market, eating $3M in salary is worth more than moving up 15 spots in the draft. Drop the draft pick going back to Montreal and do the trade for future considerations and LA might consider it.

A 6th/7th defenseman blocking ice time from Clague, MacDermid, and possibly Bjornfot as well as a 4th liner when we have plenty of those while taking on 3M just to move up a round? Yeah that sounds like a good deal to make.......

I mean you're also getting better for the measly cost of $3M... It's a hilarious concept that MTL would have to add a 2nd to dump Kulak...Staal got dumped at that cost. Weal is maybe an add on, but Kulak is actually a decent D.

Kulak and MacDermid are the same age and Kulak is head and shoulders above the guy. Statistically speaking Kulak was a top4 D in the playoffs, he performed pretty nicely.

Yep that sounds a very good deal to make.

Not enough for the cap dump in this year. Weal isn't an upgrade. Kings need to see where their prospects fit into their lineup. Also, two players that could be gone after the year. No dice

Can't fathom the logic behind the team getting better is a bad thing but I digress.

Buddy, statistically speaking Roy should be a top pair defenseman and Marcinin should have won the Norris if he played a full season...

Statistics don't work in hockey like they do in baseball, get out of here with that...

Kulak is not a top 4 defenseman and we do not want him, we do not want Weal, we do not want the 3M that comes with them, and lastly we do not want to give up an early 3rd for a late 2nd.

Thank you!

That's because you don't watch hockey nor do you know anything about it. If you knew anything about rebuilds, you'd know that the last thing a rebuilding team is going to do is bring in 2 older players to block young players from getting ice time to further their development.

You're arguing with 2 very knowledgeable Kings fans who also know a lot about hockey in general. I don't get it. The kings have no use or interest in Kulak or Weal.

Montreal just declines this trade. They aren't going to dump players or assets when they don't have too.
