Malkin would easily be MTL's top line center. The guy was on pace for 109 points in 82 games last season.

Montreal is not taking Malkin for that price, maybe if you half retain him and take back Byron as part of the deal. We just don't have the cap space to take Malkin for futures. Nice try though.

Lol thinking you can trade a cap dump and retain for a player like malkin. Nice try though

Yes but my point is that mtl dosen't need another 1c when they have suzuki who can develop into that in a year or two, and then kk or danault can be the 2c. So overall im just saying that they don't need him.

That’s fair. I feel Suzuki & KK both have 1C potential but I don’t think either of them will reach the ceiling of Geno.

ya for sure none of em will ever reach malkin but ya i think suzuki has 1c potential (and I really do think it can be very soon) and kk i think has good 2c potential and maybe a fringe 1c.

Another PIT fan trading away 34+ players not worth their contracts anymore for another team whole farm system. How original and not delusional at all🙄

Nobody else will pay for your past glories.

LMAO what? Geno’s career average is 95 points per 82 games, last season he was on pace for 109. How is he not worth his contract?

You’ve got to be kidding me.. he would be By far YOUR BEST PLAYER! Pens are getting fleeced here.

Norlander is solid
Poehling is a 3C at best
And the picks would likely be late if habs added malkin.

No chance pens would EVER do this

Avs pass, I mean talk about a pointless trade for them when they already have makar and byram on the way

Plus adding more cap, no way they ever consider this

I’ve seen so many takes about Geno on here & Instagram about how he’s not an elite level player. It’s unreal how disrespected he is. Guy is a superstar!

Maybe the most under appreciated player in NHL history. Dude would be MTLs best player since Lafleur even at 34 and this guy is saying “He’s not worth his contract”

Yep I agree. Given what he’s done, it should be a general consensus that the guy is a first ballot HOFer.

Considering Letang is way better than Johnson this statement is outrageous

Consider you are making assumptions that Johnson is a bad player is outrageous and shows how blinded a homer you are about letang

Both are still effect players both are over paid by a 1m or so and both are on the wrong side of 30 with injury history and and NMC

If you are saying EJ is a cap dump then you are saying letang is one too bc hate to break it to you, letang isn’t looked at with darling eyes by 30 other franchises

Letang is still a top 20 D in this leauge, Johnson definitely isn’t even close. If I’m a homer, then I guess so is the Norris Trophy voting or NHL.com who all peg him as an elite D still. I think I trust the experts more than Coga16 from cap friendly. Even the advance statistics love him as well

Johnson may not be a complete cap dump, and you’re right he’s still effective, but in a flat cap world he’s overpaid. You’re right saying he’s a complete cap dump is harsh and wrong, but your comment about Letang is even worse than my comment about Johnson. Letang is on a great deal for an elite #1D.
