Why would the Leafs want to pay extra to downgrade their backup from Schneider to Campbell?

Woof, wow. Yeah every bit of this is bad.
The subban trade especially. I wouldn't trade kerfoot for that package straight up.
Subban is washed and worse than holl now and you throw in Nylander and a first? Terrible.
Then theres the down grade at 3c and backup goalie for some weird reason

Detroit passes, And Cory Schneider already has an agreement in place with the Islanders. Only waiting for Matt Barzal to sign.

Not a chance for any of them:

1. Campbell is a good backup that can be a solid starter if Freddie goes down with an injury,
2. Kerfoot>Subban and Nylander>Gusev + you add the 1 & 2. What a joke.
3. Gagner is a washed up old veteran fourth-liner whereas Justin Holl is a dependable 2nd pairing shutdown D-Man. Engvall is always a good depth option that can play on the PK.

Ah yes. It's been so long (1 day) since I've seen a Holl to Detroit trade on CF ACGM. Now I just need a Chiasson to Detroit trade and my day is complete. 👍

Wings do not want Holl or Engvall, so it's not even about value, but fit.

Also, no NHL GM in their right mind is going to trade a guy they JUST signed(especially a veteran). It's just bad etiquette and a great way to get blacklisted by free agents in the future.

Everything about this is bad for the Leafs.

None of these proposed trades makes the team better in the now or moving forward.

Easiest HARD NO I've seen in a while.

Leaf fans are so ridiculous! Thinking their good players are worth worse players.

Capfriendly wing fans are an interesting breed. It seems that no matter who gets traded to your team on here, you say no because of weird reasons. This trade is an easy win for you, you give up a guy who doesn't make 90% of the team's in the league and a 4th for an upgrade on defence and a much, much better player. Engvall may not be a potential star but he's definitely a good bottom 6 guy who can kill penalties. On top of all that, this is so obviously a troll job that it shouldn't be taken seriously at all and yet you guys gripe.

Let me get this straight. The Leafs trade away a 24 year old 60 point player who just hit his stride this past season along with a solid 3c option in kerfoot for a defensive liability in Subban and a older and lesser player in gusev. Subban at 4.5 is still 2 million too much. The Leafs at this point in time on paper are the best roster this city has seen in easily 15-20 years. Why trade away pieces from a cup contender to make make them much worse. You lose offense and gain further liability on defense all for a pick that probably won't be lottery if you look at how much better the Devils are because of the move LMFAO. This is some of the worst stuff I've seen on this site and I frequent Buffalo and MTL threads. This takes the cake easily
