Why would Montreal want to do that.

i think the reason vegas is considering trading patches is to SHED salary, not gain it... if this is to be a legitimate offer, mtl wld need to retain some salary on both players no doubt

Montreal wouldn't do this if it meant giving up Lehkonen. Maybe the consider it if it was just Patches for Drouin + 1st + 3rd, but IMO Lehkonen is the deal breaker.

Montreal isn't retaining on Both players unless you increase the value for the Habs. Something like changing the deal to Drouin + Lehkonen (Both half retained) + 3rd for Patches.

Why Would Mark Bergevin give up Mikal Sergachev for Jonathan Drouin? Because he’s a bad GM. Still much love for an original Tampa Bay Lightning player

Quit acting like Sergechev has proven to be some type of superstar. Both players have disappointed so far in their careers.

Tampa Bay couldn’t be happier. Drouin was gone for nothing the following year.

Both teams lost. Neither team benefitted off the trade. Tampa was a powerhouse before and after Sergechev.

Tell yourself whatever you want so that you can sleep at night or whatever it is but Tampa Bay will take the trade today tomorrow next week next month next year whenever I am thrilled to have sergachev

I don't think you speak on the behalf of Tampa, but neither team benefited from the trade. Both are underperforming what is expected from them. Tampa just has to talent and depth to make up for that. Montreal does not.
