I saw this trade and wanted to see if it worked for Calgary. And I think it works pretty well. Calgary trades a position that they have an abundance of for one of similar cap hit on the other side. What do you think?

Quantity doesn't mean quality. Just because Calgary has an abundance of LDs doesn't mean that Valimaki or Kylington is ready for top-4 minutes. Giordano and Hanifin opposite Andersson and Tanev is a pretty good set of pairs. What the Flames have here doesn't look as strong to me. But then again, I'm an outsider.

Pretty quick no from the Rangers. Hanifin is actually a worse defender than Deangelo and the offense isn't even close.

If Valimaki is as good as most believe, then I think after this season Hanifin is traded.
