So my question is why did Perfetti slip down to 10th? It seemed he was a lock around 5-7th. I haven't really heard any reasons why he made it to 10th.
Who knows, it's hard to say, every single team has hits and misses every single draft year, I criticize the Jets drafting sometimes but maybe it's all just luck idk, I mean even Tampa picked guys before they selected Point and Cirelli that haven't amounted to much so are they the masters at drafting or just a bit lucky.
As for Perfetti to me he looks like he for sure isn't NHL ready this year and even next year seems unlikely to me and really he could just flop out.
I can see some teams being concerned about his skating, he looks a little awkward to me. Also I do think some teams ahead of the Jets really drafted for need, Buffalo and NJ really needed wingers and are kind of set at center so I think thats at least one reason they selected the guys they did over Perfetti.
I know I'll get roasted for even suggesting such a thing but really who knows what he'll become at this point, I'm just trying to keep my expectations realistic for an 18 year old, I know I'm supposed to be excited about the shiny new toy but I'm a realist.. Lol
Having said that I really really hope I'm wrong and Perfetti is ready sooner then I think but whether he is or isn't I still think they should keep Roslovic and develop him at center AND I think they need to keep adding centers whether through drafting, trades or whatever, basically planning solely on Perfetti being the much needed 2C would be really shortsighted at this point with where the Jets are at.
