I think Murphy is worth a 1st, but its a fair point. Kap not only got a 1st, but also got a good prospect in Hallander.

How does he not, a RHD top 4 dman who makes less then $4M with two years on his contract, doubt one of those is getting acquired for any less.

What constitutes a "good prospect" here? Hallander is a bottom 6 LW prospect. He's not exactly a hot commodity.

Murphy contract isn't bad by any means, He can easily be making 4.5-5 million on his next deal

I didn't say he was Alexis Lafreniere, but I think he can be a contributor at the NHL level for sure.

No he does not, Strome had a bad year and isn't a good skater, can't play defense, or play wing, the max he'll get is 2.7-3.0 on a 2 year deal. Strome doesn't have any power in his negation nor does he have arbitration rights

I think Powers would fit the Hawk's system better, and this top 4 looks a lot better

I'm assuming your saying that based on size and that Power is known as the more shutdown guy. Luke Hughes isn't as big as power but he's still a lot bigger than his brothers. I think he's 6'2 or 6'3 off the top of my head and he's very responsible in his own end and untimely is the better player. I would rather take the BPA and worry about scheme fit later but maybe that's just me. We haven't even seen anything from boqvist yet that says he's gonna be a top pair guy. Mitchell could very well be better than Boqvist for all we know right now and he would be a great partner for hughes imo

New Byfuglien? Yeesh that's high praise. Byfuglien was a fantastic offensive force, great PPQB, and possibly the most physically dominant players of his era. He had the "it" factor, could turn a game by himself. I'm not even sure Murphy's better than Demelo/Pionk TBH.

I compared him to Buff, because Murphy is a very big physical defensemen just like Buff, Murphy is definitely better than Demelo and better in some areas than Pionk
