If we do see a trade it's mid season. But to be honest, I wouldn't expect it.
I think someone in the organization needs to take the keys away at this point. This team isn't good enough to win a cup. Making trades now is just throwing good money after bad.
This has got to be JR last year. This team has been in serious decline for some time.

Top-6 is solid
Bottom-6 is fine. A 3C upgrade would be nice, but the bottom-6 is certainly not bad.

Top-4 D is solid
5-8D is fine

They want to go with Jarry in G. Anyone that they would bring in to back up Jarry wouldn't save the ship if Jarry falters.

Sure, you might have been able to bring in a 78 instead of a 76, but in reality that is not going to really change anything. Also, the player would have to want to sign in Pittsburgh as well. Maybe Haula wanted to go to wherever Granlund went like people are suggesting. Maybe signing $700K Jankowski had ZERO impact on the Penguins ability to sign Granlund and Haula for $5.5M+. Insert additional such logical comparisons of what could have happened vs what did happen. Also, $2M to play for the Penguins is not the same as $2M to play for the Rangers which isn't the same as $2M to play for the Panthers. The way a player expect to be used on the Penguins may not be the same as of the Predators which may not be the same as on the Canucks. Just because a team signs a guy for $1.75M, it does not mean that guy would have signed with the Penguins for $1.75M or even $2.5M, etc.
