Don't worry, he thinks Leafs enforcers: Nic Petan, Denis Malgin, and Jimmy Vesey will show the Habs who's boss

yeah point out guys like Nic Petan and Malgin who won't even make the taxi squad

You agree with the notion that the Canadiens are designed to perform better in the playoffs as opposed to the regular season, similar to the Kings teams from the early 10s. Hence, a juggernaut.

I agree that the Canadiens are built for the playoffs, but I also think we still have some inner growth to achieve what we want. In comparison to Toronto ( a poorly constructed team) Montreal walks all over them, but that doesn't mean we can beat any team in the league

I have no idea where that number comes from, but I can tell you right now that Hedman's ATOI was 26:28 and that's the highest on the team. I don't know if that's total TOI or something

Turns out you havn't really looked into those Matthews/Hyman defensive numbers either. They are all pretty good.

Considering the lies you've been telling in here with your 'stats', you shouldn't be calling for 'facts'.

Now compare them to Montreal's top line and enjoy!

You should look up their stats. They aren't that impressive. Do some research before saying things like that please.

ok, Matthews was 2nd in the league in takeaways last year. Done.

okay then..

Matthews 2nd in takeaways as mentioned.

Matthews corsi last season was 53.9%

Matthews on ice save percentage was only 90.9% last season and his PDO was 101.5% suggesting that he was slightly unlucky do to inconsistent goaltending.

Matthews expected goals for was 64.7% (86th percentile - thats good) and his expected goals against was 49.2% (57th percentile - above league average) for a difference of 15.5% (very good)

All while putting up 80 points in 70 games (1.14 PPG) and 47 goals in 70 games (.67 PPG) which would've had him finish with 93 points and 55 goals had the season not been cut short.

If that's not elite, please tell us what is with your bias glasses off.

That Bogosian played the 7th most of Tampa defensemen in the playoffs last season. That's a false statement in every way.

You stated that Matthews and Hyman's defensive stats wern't good. That is a false statement in every way.

You've been lieing and hoping no one would double check but we have and here we are. You are full of ****.

Yes, that's definitely what I was implying reworded to also insult the Maple Leafs.

My original point was that the Canadiens only got past a miserable Penguins team in the playoffs, mostly due to Price's performance instead of the overall team composition. Their acquisitions add a lot of what-ifs with positive outcomes, but I don't believe they are "built for the playoffs".

I definitely can look up stats myself, and I will if I need to vindicate my opinion. That being said, I'm not going to do somebody elses homework for them in order to "prove" me wrong. That's not how a discussion works, but carry on with your day

You've been doing a lot of 'assuming' in this thread but havn't had very good accuracy. Maybe you should stop.

If you're gonna sit there behind mommy and daddy's computer and bash talk everyone for "not knowing our stats that we should look up first before commenting" I would think that you would know where to find your stats at. Otherwise you're highly immature and a waste of time.

Danault's corsi last season was 59.5% (better than Matthews)
Danault's xGA was 35.8 (better than Matthews)
Danault's FF% was 59.2% (Matthews was 53.7%)

Matthews started 59.6% of his stats in the offensive zone (very surprised by this actually, didn't think Matthews was that sheltered)

Truth is, we can cherry pick stats back and forth, but the fact that Danault actually has Matthews beat in many stats is concerning considering Matthews is "one of the best players in the world"
