Kinda surprised they signed him already tbh, can contracts slide 2 years? I doubt he’ll see NHL time this year, and he’s still a slide candidate next year as well, so it would make more sense to sign him next year imo to max out the ELC years (less than 1 mil for years 3-5 post-draft). Unless they’re giving him the signing bonus to help his family out financially or something

Wonder if this means they expect him at camp. Obviously not making the NHL, but would be a great experience for him to start his season, especially considering he missed out on participating in the Team Canada camp due to COVID.

Really like his game, and think he's going to be a great fit in Ottawa for a long time.

Okay then this is fine, he won’t get more than 7 games but maybe he sneaks into a couple. At least he’ll get the experience of camp, which will be big for his development
