There won't be any cap increase until the players pay back what they owe. It's going to be at least a couple years, likely more.

If one year of Marleau costs a first rounder in a pre-covid environment you're likely looking at a painful amount more to dispose of Neal. Seattle has all the leverage, and nothing but cap space to weaponize when it comes to signing top end UFAs. Not likely they spend a bunch of it on expensive aging players from a nearby rival.

And as mentioned, where's Nuge?

Nuge, imo will get quite a large overpay or will want that, last I remember he was wanting something like 7x7 but I may be wrong.
