Ottawa gives up a surplus player. Jaros will turn 25 in April making him an older “prospect” he had some nhl time but hasn’t proven much. Always been a floor over ceiling guy. He is decent in his own end but struggles going forward at times. Not much a loss. And they get back a forward who was in the Ottawa system before and can provide some cover while the last of the prospects develop and can be sold at the deadline for a pick. Only flaw in this is Melnuyk. He has already spent some money this offseason and adding 750k might not in his cards.
