It wasn't a rumour, the guy who started it himself said it was likely wishful thinking from opposing teams.

He’s paid by both and when TSN has insider trading again I’m sure they’ll talk all about it. Also Jarmo declined to comment according to Portzline on the trade request which is a bit of an admission in its own.
